Health first

In these unprecedented and rapidly changing circumstances, Excellence in the Community endorses the leadership and vision of Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall, and other civic and health leaders. Public health first and foremost.

In accordance with the restrictions announced Friday March 27, 2020, we are (temporarily) hitting the pause button on all of our concerts, including the live stream concept from the Gallivan Center, until conditions improve. As soon as government leaders determine it is safe to relax the current restrictions, we intend to resume our activities. Perhaps first picking up where we left off, with the live stream events; then working our way carefully and gradually back to former patterns. All will understand that timeframes are yet to be determined.

In the meantime, we are revamping our website to provide a menu of videos from past Excellence concerts.

In Greek mythology, Apollo was the god of music and of healing. The two are linked. We anticipate that the contributions of Utah musicians will play a very important role in the healing process, never more important than in these turbulent times.  We look forward to the moment when the accomplishments of Utah musicians can contribute peace, unity, and recovery to our community. When the moment is appropriate, Excellence will be ready.  Again, we refer to a pause button. Live concerts will resume when appropriate, exactly where we left off.
